Every allocation number is checked against the Tax Authority before you pay.
Since 2024 a tax invoice above the legal threshold needs an allocation number, and without it your input VAT is at risk. AskPay connects to the official Tax Authority API: the business approves once with government ID, and from then on every invoice is checked in one click.
What the connection gives you
In the payment details click "Check now" and the answer is back in seconds: verified, different amount, or no invoice found.
Green: a matching invoice exists. Orange: it exists, with a different amount. Red: no invoice found, stop the payment.
AI reads the allocation number off the invoice, even from a photo, so there is nothing to type.
The sign-in happens on the government site itself. AskPay never sees your credentials, only receives permission to check.
An invoice without a valid allocation number does not qualify for a VAT deduction. Checking before paying saves the discovery at the accountant.
The result is saved on the invoice and shows in the accountant folder too.
How to connect
You go to the Tax Authority site and sign in with the business's government ID.
The Tax Authority sends you back to AskPay and the connection shows as active.
From now on every invoice with an allocation number has a check button. The result is saved on the invoice.
What happens by itself after connecting
These things run in the background once you have connected. An action that costs credits shows how many before it runs.
- Reads the allocation number off every incoming invoice
- Flags invoices above the threshold that were not checked yet
- Saves the result next to the payment and in the accountant folder

Questions about connecting Israel Tax Authority
What is the Tax Authority connection, exactly?
An official connection to the Tax Authority API for verifying allocation numbers. You connect once with government ID from the Integrations screen, and from then on every supplier invoice above the threshold is checked in one click: does an invoice exist, does the amount match.
Does AskPay see my Tax Authority password?
No. The sign-in happens on the Tax Authority site itself. AskPay only receives permission to check allocation numbers, and you can revoke it any time.
What do I do when the answer is "different amount"?
The supplier declared a different amount to the Tax Authority than the one on the invoice you received. Stop, ask the supplier for a corrected invoice, and check again.
What is the threshold that requires an allocation number?
The threshold goes down every year by law. The current threshold and all the details are in our allocation number guide on the blog (Hebrew).
